A LITTLE BACKGROUND
I started young... but didn't stay there. Yet when people ask me where I grew up, I ask them, "I grew up?" As my daughter once suggested, I'm a very old child. Or I simply never lost my sense of wonder... or the dread that something really lives under the bed.
My background is... eclectic. From having all the leading roles in every musical and play throughout high school and college, I was convinced -- by someone else -- that I should get "a real job." So I became a film editor, worked on Emmy-winning shows, and got some Emmy nominations of my own. From there, I produced and directed and wrote at a very odd |
collection of places -- PBS, ABC News, CBS's Festival of Lively Arts for Young People, Universal, HBO, The Food Channel, and on productions that no one's ever heard of.
When I got to LA, I changed direction. Again. I worked in advertising, marketing, high tech, and then got back into performing -- in commercials, theater, film, and audiobooks (the only time I get to play all of the characters and give them separate voices). And whether I'm speaking English in nine different languages or transforming geekspeak into English As A Known Language, it's all fun. |
